Maguey Honey originates from the State of Hidalgo, on the plateau of Apan and Calpulalpan, the only region with the Atrovirens species (tame maguey), which is the ideal honey producing plant. It was cultivated by the pre-Columbine and the Aztec peoples. It formed a fundamental part of the economy in Revolutionary Mexico and the Reform period.
It is a 100% natural sweetener prepared from honey water, extracted from the maguey plant, the sweet base of which is fructose without any chemical process or ingredient.
